At True Builders, one of our favorite projects to do is a kitchen remodel. It’s a room where our customers spend a lot of time cooking, entertaining, and hanging out with the family. It also helps give homes a facelift and can be a great return on investment for the homeowner. So when the Geers in Brandon, FL, called us asking to consult on their new kitchen remodeling project, we jumped at the chance to help them plan out the kitchen they’d always dreamed of.

Creating an Open-Concept Kitchen Design and Plan
One of the first things we noticed about the Geers’ existing kitchen was that it seemed closed off to the rest of the home. We worked to create an open-concept kitchen design and plan that would remove some walls and really open up their existing space to give them more room within the main area. Open-concept kitchens allow for everyone to be involved in whatever is going on throughout the rest of the home.
At True Builders, we have an on-site showroom where the Geers were able to come visit and pick out the exact materials they wanted for their new kitchen.
We also opted to install some nice, brighter flooring in the kitchen, living room, and dining room. Using the same flooring throughout created a more cohesive feel and made the entire area feel lighter. Our team also repainted the area with a light grey color to go along with the new features of the kitchen.
Tearing Down Existing Walls to Make Room for New Cabinets and Granite Countertops
To achieve the open, connected feel the Geers wanted, our team removed some of the existing walls that were boxing in the kitchen. This created the room we needed to install new cabinets and beautiful granite countertops, giving the Geers a brighter, more functional space that flows seamlessly into the rest of their Brandon home.
