Sheriff Grady Judd, a Morning Briefing, and a True Mug
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd opens his televised morning briefing with his favorite cup of coffee, and the mug in his hand is the True Plumbers "We get poop done" mug. His on-camera review: "Oh. That's strong." The rest of the briefing is a genuinely wild Mulberry story, and the mug stays in frame the whole time.
It is a small, funny moment that says something real: the True family of companies is woven into the Polk County community it serves, from the sheriff's desk to the thousands of homes the trucks visit every year.
Why local roots matter when you pick a contractor
Storm seasons bring out-of-town contractors by the truckload, and some do fine work. But a company rooted where you live has something a traveling crew does not: a reputation it has to wake up next to. Local roots are checkable, and worth checking.
- How many years has the company served this specific county, not just the state?
- Is there a physical office or showroom you can walk into if something goes wrong?
- Do reviews mention your area's neighborhoods, landmarks, and storms by name?
- Will they be here for the warranty call in year three, or is the crew from three states away?
