Kitchen Remodeling for Central Florida homes, done right
We remodel kitchens across Lakeland, Brandon, Davenport, Wesley Chapel, and the rest of Central Florida. You get a written price after the free consultation.
Your kitchen is where your family actually lives, so a remodel should make it work harder and feel better every single day. True Builders designs and builds custom kitchen remodels across Central Florida, handling cabinets, countertops, flooring, lighting, and open-concept layout changes with one accountable team from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.
We are a family-owned, licensed general contractor (GC license #CBC1258346) headquartered in Plant City, and we have remodeled kitchens across Lakeland, Tampa, Brandon, Winter Haven, Wesley Chapel, Zephyrhills, Davenport, Bartow, Auburndale, and Haines City since 2009. Because we self-perform and run our own crews, you get one point of contact, a clear schedule, and finish work that holds up, not a string of subcontractors pointing fingers.
From a simple cabinet-and-counter refresh to taking down a wall for a true open-concept kitchen, we manage design, material selection in our showroom, permitting, and every trade under one roof. You can meet us at your home or in the showroom with no obligation, financing is available, and our 4.8-star rating across 400-plus Google reviews reflects projects delivered on time and on budget.
If you want to see the work before you call, our recent projects and our video library both show finished Central Florida kitchens, and our customer reviews are worth reading before you hand anyone a key.
Signs It Is Time to Remodel Your Kitchen
You do not need a falling-apart kitchen to justify a remodel. Most homeowners call us when the space stops fitting how they cook, gather, and store things, or when dated finishes start dragging down the rest of the house. If any of these sound familiar, it is worth a conversation.
- Not enough counter space, cabinet storage, or pantry room for how you actually cook
- Worn laminate counters, chipped cabinet doors, or flooring that has seen better days
- A closed-off, choppy layout that cuts the kitchen off from your living and dining space
- Too few outlets, dim lighting, or an island you have always wished you had
- Water damage, soft spots, or a kitchen that was never updated since the home was built
- You are planning to sell and want one of the highest-return improvements you can make
What a True Builders Kitchen Remodel Includes
A kitchen remodel touches nearly every trade, which is exactly why having one team matters. True Builders takes your kitchen from concept to completion, including the cabinetry, surfaces, and finishes you see and the plumbing, electrical, and structural work you do not.
Whether you want a clean refresh or a full gut renovation with a new layout, we scope it honestly up front so you know what is included before demolition begins.
- Custom and semi-custom cabinetry, islands, and pantry storage built to your kitchen
- Countertops in granite, quartz, and marble with expert templating and installation
- Backsplash and tile work, plus flooring in luxury vinyl plank, tile, or hardwood
- Open-concept layout changes, including wall removal where the structure allows
- Lighting design, recessed and under-cabinet fixtures, and added outlets
- All trades in-house: plumbing, electrical, drywall, and paint

Materials and Design Options in Our Showroom
Choosing finishes from tiny online swatches is hard, and getting them wrong is expensive. Our Central Florida showroom lets you see and compare real cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, and fixtures in person, with designers who help you build one cohesive look that fits your budget.
We help you balance the choices that drive a kitchen's feel and function, from door style and counter material to backsplash and hardware, so every selection works together instead of competing.
- Cabinet door styles, finishes, and storage upgrades like soft-close and pull-outs
- Granite, quartz, and marble countertops with edge profile and slab selection
- Backsplash tile, flooring, and paint coordinated into one design
- Practical upgrades our project managers suggest: better workflow, more storage, smarter lighting
- Selections turned into a detailed, fixed-scope estimate so there are no surprises

Our Kitchen Remodeling Process
The difference between a smooth remodel and a stressful one is planning. We follow a clear, proven process so you always know what is happening next and one team stays accountable from design through the final walkthrough.
- Consultation: we visit your home or meet in the showroom, learn how you use your kitchen, and talk goals and budget.
- Design and selections: we plan the layout, help you choose materials, and identify any structural, plumbing, or electrical considerations early.
- Detailed estimate and permitting: we lock a realistic scope, budget, and timeline, then pull the permits so the project is done right and to code.
- Demolition and build: our self-performing crews handle demo, framing, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, counters, tile, and paint in the right order.
- Final walkthrough: we review every detail with you and do not consider the job done until you are happy with it.
Why Central Florida Homeowners Choose True Builders
A kitchen remodel is one of the most rewarding projects you can take on, and also one most likely to go sideways without the right team. As a family-owned, licensed general contractor serving Central Florida since 2009, we built our reputation on doing it the accountable way.
One team handles design through build, so there is no gap between what was planned and what gets installed, and no guessing about who is responsible for the result.
The same crews also handle bathroom remodeling, kitchen cabinet installation, countertop installation, home additions, and renovation design and planning, so a kitchen can grow into a wider project without a second contractor. If your kitchen is coming apart because of a fire rather than a choice, our kitchen fire repair team runs that scope and the insurance paperwork with it. You can meet the people who would run your job on our team page.
- Licensed Florida general contractor, GC license #CBC1258346, family-owned since 2009
- Self-performing crews for framing, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, counters, tile, and paint
- In-house design team and a real showroom, not a catalog and a phone number
- 4.8 stars across 400-plus Google reviews, part of the True family that has served 100,000-plus customers
- Serving Plant City, Lakeland, Tampa, Brandon, Winter Haven, Wesley Chapel, Zephyrhills, Bartow, Auburndale, and surrounding Polk, Hillsborough, and Pasco communities
Timeline, Financing, and What to Expect
Every kitchen is different, so the honest answer on cost and timeline comes after we see your space and your selections. What we can promise is a clear plan up front and no surprise pricing once work begins.
We will walk your kitchen, give you a clear scope and a real number, and leave you with no obligation to move forward. Financing is available so you can build the kitchen you actually want, not just the one that fits this month's budget.
- Timeline depends on size, scope, and material lead times, and we give you a realistic schedule before we start
- A fixed-scope estimate after your showroom consultation, so you know exactly what your remodel includes
- Financing available to spread the investment over time
- In-home and showroom consultations with no obligation
- One accountable team and one point of contact from design through final walkthrough
What a Kitchen Remodel Costs in the Tampa and Lakeland Market
Almost no remodeling site publishes numbers, which is why every homeowner starts the conversation guessing. Here is what published industry cost guides report for the Tampa and Lakeland market in 2026, so you can walk into a consultation with a realistic starting point.
A cosmetic refresh runs $8,000 to $18,000. That is new countertops, paint, hardware, lighting, and possibly new cabinet fronts on the layout you already have. A mid-range remodel with all new cabinets, counters, flooring, and appliances runs $30,000 to $60,000. A full gut that moves the layout, takes out a wall, or relocates plumbing runs $60,000 to $120,000 and up.
Where the money actually goes: cabinets take about 29 percent of the budget, installation labor about 17 percent, appliances about 14 percent, and countertops about 11 percent. Cabinets are the single line that moves the total, which is why we settle the cabinet tier before we talk about anything else. Homeowners are usually surprised that the countertops they agonize over are a smaller slice than the appliances.
These are general market ranges compiled from published industry cost guides. They are not a True Builders quote. Scope, materials, and site conditions set the real number, and older Central Florida kitchens routinely turn up wiring, plumbing, or subfloor that has to be corrected before anything new goes in. We put a fixed-scope figure in writing after we see your kitchen. Call (863) 647-1800 or Get a Quote.
- Cosmetic refresh: $8,000 to $18,000
- Mid-range remodel with new cabinets and appliances: $30,000 to $60,000
- Full gut with a layout change: $60,000 to $120,000+
- Cabinets are about 29 percent of the budget, installation labor about 17 percent
- Appliances are about 14 percent and countertops about 11 percent
- General market ranges from published industry cost guides, not a True Builders quote
Kitchen Remodeling in Lakeland and Plant City
Our headquarters and showroom sit at 4000 N Frontage Rd in Plant City, and our Lakeland office is at 2829 Badger Rd #19. Most of the kitchens we build are within a short drive of one of the two, and we pull permits through the Polk and Hillsborough county offices nearly every week.
The house tells us a lot before we quote it. A 1970s Lakeland ranch usually has original wiring behind the cabinets and a slab with cast iron drains at the end of their life. A 2000s Plant City build normally has PVC and a straightforward tie-in, so the same kitchen costs less to open up. We tell you which one you have before the estimate, not after demolition.
We also work Brandon, Winter Haven, Davenport, Wesley Chapel, Tampa, Bartow, Auburndale, and Haines City. The full list of towns we cover is on our service areas page.
- Plant City HQ and showroom: 4000 N Frontage Rd, Plant City FL 33565
- Lakeland office: 2829 Badger Rd #19
- Polk, Hillsborough, and Pasco county permits pulled by our office
- Also serving Tampa, Brandon, Winter Haven, Davenport, Wesley Chapel, Bartow, Auburndale, and Haines City
Financing Your Kitchen Remodel
A kitchen is usually the largest remodel a homeowner takes on, and waiting until the whole amount is saved often means paying more later as material costs climb. Financing through our third-party lending partner turns the project into a fixed monthly payment. Checking your options uses a soft credit check, which does not affect your credit score.
Financing is subject to credit approval, and terms depend on the lender, the amount requested, and your credit. For smaller projects we accept all major credit cards, so you do not have to set up financing for a countertop swap. Ask us which route fits your scope when we walk the kitchen.
- Fixed monthly payment instead of one large bill
- Soft credit check to see your options
- All major credit cards accepted on smaller projects
- Subject to credit approval through our third-party lending partner
License, Reviews, and Insurance
Verify us before you sign. Our Florida general contractor license is CBC1258346 and it is searchable in the Florida DBPR license database. We are licensed and insured, we hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and we carry 4.8 stars across 400-plus Google reviews. Family-owned in Central Florida since 2009.
Do the same check on everyone you get a bid from. A kitchen that touches plumbing, electrical, or a wall needs a permit, and an unlicensed remodeler cannot pull one, which leaves you holding unpermitted work at resale.
